Custom Dye Sublimation Fabric Printing & SEG Frames

Dye sublimation (commonly known as dye sub) is a printing process where heat (around 400°F) vaporizes ink and presses it directly into the fibers of the fabric. Unlike UV or screen printing, where ink sits on the surface, dye sub infuses color into the material itself. The result is a print that won’t crack, peel, or flake, and the fabric keeps its natural soft feel. We use a transfer process: print the image onto transfer paper, then run it through a heat press to sublimate the ink into the fabric.

The biggest benefits: Vibrant, sophisticated color that’s infused into the threads (not sprayed on top), and graphics that are incredibly durable — they won’t crack, peel, or fade the way surface-printed graphics do. The fabric stays foldable, which means it ships lighter and flatter than rigid alternatives. And because the ink is part of the fiber, you can fold it, wad it up, stretch it out, and it still looks beautiful.

SEGs are fabric graphics with a thin, flexible silicone strip sewn along the border. That strip slides into a channel on an aluminum frame, creating a taut, seamless display — almost like a stretched canvas. They come in frontlit (lit by ambient room light) and backlit (illuminated from behind) versions, with frame profiles as slim as 3/4 inch. Brands love them because they’re soft, sophisticated, lighter than rigid signage, easy to ship, and simple to swap when it’s time to refresh.

Frontlit fabric relies on ambient light — great for SEG frames, environmental graphics, and trade show displays. Backlit fabric is engineered to let light pass through evenly from behind, creating a glowing, high-impact lightbox effect without the pin-holing or thread bleed-through that older materials had. We’ll recommend the right substrate based on your application and environment.

We print up to 10 feet wide with virtually unlimited length. For projects requiring even wider seamless output, we have partnerships with facilities running 5-meter presses across the country.

We work with a range of fabric substrates tailored to the application. For frontlit SEGs and trade show displays, we use soft knit and poplin fabrics that drape clean and relax nicely over time. For backlit displays, we use high-quality backlit substrates that distribute light evenly without pin-holing or thread bleed-through. We also work with mesh for large-scale banners, sheer fabric for specialty and museum installations, and dye sub onto carpet for temporary flooring.

Indoor fabric displays are built to last — the dye sub process locks color into the fibers, so graphics resist fading, cracking, and peeling even with daily exposure to ambient light. Indoors, you can expect years of vibrant, consistent color. Fabric is best suited for indoor environments; as prolonged outdoor UV exposure will cause fading over time. For printed carpet, expect strong durability under heavy foot traffic for around six months, making it ideal for temporary events and activations.
