SuperGraphics Acquires Powerful New Press

Press Release

For Immediate Release

April 5, 2019

SuperGraphics, a leading Seattle based provider of SuperFormat graphics for Retail and Environmental applications, has upgraded its industry leading press line-up with the EFI VUTEk h3 superwide-format LED inkjet printer.

Seattle, WA — April 5, 2019 — The VUTEk h3 press is a superwide-format UV LED Inkjet press that prints both rigid substrates (sheets) and roll materials. This 126” wide press – winner of printing industry association SGIA’s 2018 Product of The Year Award for UV Hybrid/Flatbed high-volume production class devices – offers superior imaging at resolutions up to 1,200 dots per inch (dpi). It also prints up to 74 boards per hour, which yields a 275% speed increase in production-quality work. Plus, with the VUTEk h3, SuperGraphics can transfer many of its current roll work to the h3, reducing turnaround times and improving efficiency on high-end point-of-purchase, and environmental graphics.

SuperGraphics has new ownership via a November 2018 employee buyout (see press release). The h3 replaces an older VUTEk Hybrid and represents one of several print and finishing equipment enhancements that the new ownership has executed and will implement. Josh Carl, Vice President of Operations and 20 year VUTEk client, like the versatility the h3 brings: “The flexibility, quality, and production speed are unmatched in the Northwest and will be a great solution for our customer base. I am specifically impressed with the white point and five layer printing the VUTEk delivers for clear material and window applications.”

In visual merchandising, every campaign ends up somewhere — and for most of retail, that somewhere is a landfill. Nordstrom graphic designer Max Kunz breaks down what sustainability actually looks like from the inside: the material trade-offs, the cultural shifts, and the process changes that make the biggest difference.
