SEATTLE, WA, February 18, 2021 — Today, SuperGraphics, a Seattle-based large format print company, announced their 2020 total recycling tonnage at 29.79 tons.
SuperGraphics launched EcoFormat™ in January of 2020 with steadfast purpose to lead the industry to a green and eco-friendly future.
To achieve this, SuperGraphics established a set of criteria to drive their business going forward:
- Establish a recycling supply chain to ensure that all non-PVC plastics were recycled to a true second use.
- Set Goals to expedite the movement to green materials.
- Stay innovative with materials and practices to promote green materials to the market.
Through the course of 2020, SuperGraphics developed an internal process that ensured all qualifying non-PVC materials were properly sorted and staged for recycling. This involved manufacturing, pre-consumer waste, and office materials.
Developing a recycling supply chain led SuperGraphics to a relationship with DTG Recycling, a leading Northwest recycler. The recycling tonnage from SuperGraphics is sorted by DTG to remove metals. The remainder of the material (non-PVC plastics, paper, wood, and other recyclable materials) is ground into Gigafuel, a low carbon pellet fuel that is utilized as a fuel for industrial kilns within the Pacific NW.
SuperGraphics President, Reid Baker: “We are excited to partner with DTG to deliver a zero-landfill solution for large format graphic projects and especially excited about our first-year recycling tonnage of almost 30 tons. And we will significantly increase our tonnage in the coming year.”
